Anxiety Study 2

This is the second in a series of self studies where I take an embodied and experimental approach which explores sensations and impulses related to anxiety. Frequently the conventional approach to dealing with anxiety and the impulses related to it is to find ways to shut it down. Sadly, this is too often done with urgency thus compounding the urgent response from our reptilian brains. My approach to anxiety when working with clients is to help them find safe ways to play with and in anxiety then know how to sooth. Spike the sensation, then swing back to safety. Play and playing with anxious sensations becomes a safe way for many of my clients to exist with anxiousness without rasing more alarm than necessary. Anxious impulses and sensations then have the chance to pass unimpeeded.
